Welcome to the Challenger Learning Center of Greater Rochester!

This center was created to inspire students' interest in science and math. When students fly their Mission to Mars, not only do they have fun, but they also exercise the development of their Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) process skills by completing curriculum-based activities aligned with New York State Learning Standards. Every single student is 100% engaged in a truly state-of-the-art facility that incorporates hands-on science activities that help improve problem-solving skills and enhance creative and critical-thinking abilities.

2024–25 Impact

This year, the Challenger Learning Center of Greater Rochester reached 13,966 students through hands-on space missions and engaging STEM video conferences; sparking curiosity, teamwork, and a love for science in classrooms across the region.

Best day ever!

“Best day ever!!”, said my budding engineer and science geek. And as a parent that has worked in education for 20+ years... this was my first time on this field trip and I was absolutely impressed. Amazing time was had by all. And the Commanders were right... this is potentially a life altering experience for some of these young minds. Well done."

"The Mission Commanders always deliver an amazing experience, filled with laughs, where every kid feels like a valuable part of the team. My fifth graders left their trip today begging me to take them back again and saying that this was the best field trip they’ve ever been on!
